  I just spent with my family and a few friends an awesome week at this lodge. We got the best service, tasty food and we actually had great fishing!!!...not that the lodge would be responsible for the river's fish population....

  I hate to see hard working people being the targets of dishonest, revengeful attacks, just because some people can't take responsibility for their actions and stupidity - hence this lengthy post.... So I encourage everyone to take the negative posts here with a (huge) grain of salt....

  It was in 2011. Very nice place with a lot of activities: swimming, canoeing, fishing, watching rapids.

  Same with the boats. My husband was super happy with the boat we rented, with brand new engine, lots of HP, no issues at all. As long as you don't drive around like a moron (I suspect some of the complainers here do) breaking the propellers, you are fine. The lodge owners were great, honest, told us about all costs up-front and DEFINITELY NOT scammers, as some posts suggested here. If you break your rental car, you pay for it, don't you?? Why would anyone expect the prop they break to heal itself for free??!!

  Our group has made the trek up from Toronto for yet another amazing memorable year at Wolesely. Year after year our annual fishing trip on the french river, every year we are received by amazing hosts Harold and Ingrid. We look forward to seeing all the hard work that is put into the resort every fall. Whether it be improvements to cabins, additions to the dock and even brand new engines for each and every rental boat there is no shortage of investment from the owners here at Wolsey to make sure you are comfortable in your stay.

  I don't understand why the complaints about the smell and bugs...there was none to find in the cabins or anywhere indoors - the place is actually really clean - fresh bedsheets and the cabins are cleaned all the time. I am allergic to dust but had no problems while staying there.

  Harald and Ingrid offer a first rate accommodation for canoe trips. Stayed over Sunday night and launched Monday morning. Dinner and breakfast were excellent! Pickup was arranged for the following Friday at another lodge, with punctual service. Made for a relaxing and enjoyable trip. Worth every penny!

  Being relaxed and enjoying my time didn't perform a check up on the propeller of the engine and upon return "apparently" it was cracked. Was very cautious during the trip and avoided shallow waters. Accident? I don't think so.
